Foresight, Time and the Problem of Timing.
We treat foresight as if it were about time and the yet-to-come. But real impact begins when we realise: foresight is about timing.
In my last piece I wrote about imagination as the missing structural element in how organizations make decisions. Today I want to add another layer to that argument. It is not only what we imagine that matters, and not only whether imagination enters the decision architecture. It is when we allow it to do so. In other words, the problem is not just about time. It is about timing.
